A pegboard wall doesn’t require too much of an investment, here is what you will need to install a pegboard wall:
- Pegboard Pieces (How ever many you need to fill your space)
- Furring Strips (this is to raise the pegboard off the wall so hooks have room to hook on)
- Wall Anchors
- Wood Screws
- A drill
- Hooks
- Paint (if you want to change your board color)
How to Install your Pegboard Wall in your Craftroom:
This video will show you how we installed our pegboard in our basement office:
Step One: Measure out your boards
The first step is to measure your pegboards and decide how you would like to place them on the wall.
Step Two: Drill Holes to Attach your Wood Furring
We are going to be placing a piece of wood furring on the top, bottom and in the middle of the pegboard. (if you watched the video, you will notice that this will also work with only a strip on the top and bottom as well)
Drill holes and add a wall anchor before you attach the wood furring. This will anchor it to the wall so it doesn’t pull out.
Step Three: Drill Furring into the anchors
Pre-drill a hole through the wood furring so that it will line up with the wall anchor. Using a wood screw, drill the furring into the anchor and through the wood.
Step Four: How to Install a Pegboard Wall
Now you will attach the pegboard to the wood furring strips. This will leave the pegboard raised up from the wall a bit so that you can add your pegboard hooks.
How to Install a Pegboard Wall: Add Hooks
Now it is time to decorate and organize your pegboard. There are so many different hooks and bins that you can add to your board. The pegboard can also be painted, so if you are not fond of white, you can paint the board the color of your choice.
