We recently added a girl to our small family of four and I have been so excited to do all things girly for her. We live in a small three bedroom house at the moment and don’t quite have a room for our new addition, but that hasn’t stopped me from dreaming up her future room and all of the decor that will go along with it!
I was thinking of creating a soft pink and gold theme as a neat and timeless style. I am also loving all of the Boho, free-spirited designs that I keep seeing. Part of bringing that Boho style to life is creating your own unique look and showing off your uniqueness.
This lamp is a little industrial, a little girly and a little hippie. It is the perfect mixture of carefree and stylish. All you need to create it is your imagination and a mason jar!
Here is what you will need to create your Boho Style lamp:
- A mason jar
- Mod podge
- Paint (I used pink and gold)
- Sparkle paint
- A mason jar lamp kit
- A shade of your choice (mine was gold wire)
- Feathers
- Any other things you would like to add
Here is how to make your Boho style lamp:
The first thing I did was paint my mason jar a light pink color.
Next, I mod podged some decorated feathers around the side of the jar. I love these white striped and spotted feathers that I found at hobby lobby!
Once everything was dry, I added gold glitter paint over everything to give the jar some sparkle.
The next thing I did was add a mason jar light kit on my jar. These things are awesome!! All you do is screw on a lid and then you have an instant light!
Once the light was installed and the light bulb was screwed in, I added my lamp shade. This was a metal cage that I found at a thrift store and spray painted gold.
The cage was a little big for the small mason jar base, so to balance it out, I glued feathers around the entire shade.
This balanced everything out and made it look more Boho and free-spirited like I was hoping for!

Isn’t it amazing what a coat of spray paint can do! I love the feather idea as well.
I love spray paint! Couldn’t live without it! ?
I love the soft pink and gold tones of your lamp and I also enjoy this style of decor. The unique Boho is very cool. We have a lot of mason jars laying around and this would be a perfect way to use a couple! Great idea!
