Thanksgiving is right around the corner and if you are hosting, all of the decorating and meal preparation can be overwhelming. You want a personal touch and a welcoming home, but you don’t have hours to create all of the amazing projects that you have been seeing on Pinterest.
From garland to table setting ideas, rustic centerpieces to tiered trays, we have you covered this year for Thanksgiving. These accent plates are super easy and amazingly stylish. The best part is that they can be create in as fast as 10 minutes. They can be used as a wall decoration or as an actual plate. Your imagination is the limit.
Here is what you will need to create your own “Thankful Grateful Blessed” Thanksgiving Plates:
A Cricut (or Silhouette)
3 large blank plates (mine are from the dollar store.)
How to Make your Thanksgiving Plate Decoration:
In Design Space, write out the words “Thankful” “Grateful” and “Blessed” in the size you would like them to appear on your plate. I used the font Autumn in November.
I used Illustrator to get my text to write on a curve. In illustrator, use the circle tool to make a circle the size of your plate rim and them use the “type on a path” tool to click the circle and start writing out your word. Once you have to text how you want it, convert it to an outline and save your file as a SVG.

Once you have your file created, print it out on black (or your choice of color) vinyl. Weed out the background with your weeding tool so just the text remains.
Transfer your Text to your Thanksgiving Plate
To move your text from the paper backing to the plate, use transfer tape and rub it over the vinyl letters. Pull up a corner to make sure everything is sticking and take your design off the paper.
Now place your design on the plate where you would like it do go. Rub the vinyl on the plate and slowly peel the tape off, leaving just your design on the plate.
Repeat with the Other Two Plates
Repeat this process with your other two plates. Soon you will have an amazing creation that can be enjoyed by all this thanksgiving.
That’s it! I wish I had like 10 more steps so that I could spend more time with you, but it’s really that easy! I hop you enjoy your DIY Thanksgiving plate decoration! Be sure to subscribe to receive even more DIY inspiration!
