15 Holiday Decorating Must Haves

Christmas is nearing and the time has come to think about decorating. If you are like me, decorating for the holidays is one of the things I look forward to all year-long. I love the sparkling lights and glittery decorations, and it is always fun to look at something different for a few months out of the year.

Each year, I try to change-up our home with a new color scheme or theme.  This year, I haven’t quite decided on everything I want to do, but I am starting to get a general idea. I am thinking gold, white, fluffy snow texture and maybe some woodland animals (also add in some pine and plaid)?   I am almost glad that stores put out decorations early so I can mix things together inside my head for a while before I finally have to make a choice!  As I am browsing the millions of options, I have decided to share 15 of my favorite trendy decorations that are sure to bring about conversation and delight!

1. A galvanized tub instead of a tree skirt

If you are going for farmhouse trendy, this one is all over Pinterest, and I have to admit that it has really started to grow on me. I mean, you can’t go wrong with a galvanized tub, especially if it is holding something green!

2. Plaid!!

I am in love with plaid! I think plaid in red or green will be super cute in any home! Plaid says warm and simple and adds a pop of color!  Check out these super simple plaid stockings!

3. A Rustic Tree with faucet ornaments

This is definitely a unique way to get that rustic look!  It is almost two feet tall and is sure to start some conversations!

4. Galvanized Tree sign

I am loving all of the rustic signs this year! It is going to be hard to pick just one!  This one is more traditional with that rustic farmhouse, yet simple feel!

5. A light up house stocking holder

This would be really neat on the mantel with a Christmas village or some woodland animals!

6. A mini tree for the kids!

This little 3 ft tree is so adorable for a kids room or an easier simple tree! I love the full texture of the branches and the pine cones!

7. Faux Fur Throw

Faux fur throws add texture and warmth to the room!  Probably should throw in some pillows too!

8. Some distressed tree decorations for the mantel

I love the distressed look and color of this set of three Christmas trees! They would look amazing on the mantel or a side table!

9. Silver and gold Glitter Reindeer

These are the perfect colors and add some sparkle to your decorating!

10.  Two Narrow Frosted trees for the entryway

I think having two of these tall skinny trees would frame an entryway perfectly! Especially if you add some lights!

11. A Plaid throw pillow or blanket

More plaid and more pops of color in a trendy way.

12. A Ceramic lighted tree

I think I am just feeling nostalgic with this one. My mom had a green one that I loved to look at when I was little!

13. Some vintage bells

These are gorgeous. I love that look vintage and so charming! You can’t tell from the picture, but these are also really big!

14. A cute way to display your Christmas cards

This little metal tree is cute as it is, but it also holds Christmas cards! I’ve been looking for a cute way to display cards, and this may be it!

14.  A pretty natural looking wreath

This wreath has a nice natural fill to it and some simple accents that don’t overdo it.

15. A tiered tray

Lately, I have been obsessed with these. They are so much fun to decorate for every season!
